OVERVIEW
Monarch Racing Syndications is proud to present an elegant, free flowing filly by Profondo. She was an absolute stand out for the stallion at the recent Karaka Sales and represents exceptional value. She will be an Autumn two year old with the best of her to come at three and beyond. Her mother Justlikeyasister is a very good producing mare with this fillies three year old half-sister Sibling Rivalry proving to be a very exciting prospect, we feel the dam’s best is yet to come. Profondo is one of the best bred stallions to stand at stud. We have been apart of his journey, watching from the side lines since he was a yearling at the Richard Litt stables. His ability was very much untapped and the injection of this stallion in the pedigree made our beautiful filly a must have after our extremely high rating on her as a physical. To be trained by Group 1 winning trainer and stallion maker Richard Litt, Warwick Farm NSW. We have nominated her for Karaka Millions Race Series in New Zealand. She will be one to watch our in the future.
SIRE: PROFONDO
An eye-catching son of the great Japanese horse Deep Impact, the Arrowfield Stud bred Profondo caught the eye from the start – fetching $1.9 million as a Magic Millions yearling. Straight into form as a spring three-year-old, the son of the fast and early maturing Gr.3 winning Redoute’s Choice mare Honesty Prevails had created a big impression with three trial victories prior to his Kensington debut. Despite covering ground from a tricky gate, Profondo proved too strong in the 1400m maiden – a win impressive enough to see him start favourite in the Gr.3 Gloaming Stakes at just his second start. Only just beaten after racing greenly, Profondo showed himself to be a rare talent by stepping up to the 2000m of the Spring Champion Stakes and winning that Gr.1 event at just his third outing! Not having a great deal of luck at subsequent outings, getting colty as he got older, Profondo left us with a taste of what might’ve been but now we are lucky enough to see what his progeny can achieve with this filly being a member of his first crop.
DAM: JUSTLIKEYASISTER
A tough, durable mare with good ability, Justlikeyasister raced on 50 occasions – winning five races and filling the placings on a further 15 occasions. Successful from 1200m to 1500m, she held form throughout lengthy campaigns – showing herself to be sound and determined. Qualities she is passing on to her progeny with her first foal Perfectsister racing 47 times to date, winning five races and finishing in the placings nine times. Her third foal Hokkaido is also a multiple winner whilst her three-year-old daughter Sibling Rivalry is showing nice potential – winning two of her first four starts. Justlikeyasister’s sire is the regally bred Gold Centre, a lightly raced winning full brother to Elvstroem and half to Haradasun from the same family as Starspangledbanner and Highland Reel. With limited runners he did well at stud with three stakes winners and his daughters are faring very nicely, 13 winners amongst their first 17 runners!
SECOND DAM: ROBINSON GIRL
A four time winner (three of her successes coming on metropolitan tracks), Robinson Girl was also placed seven times during a 19 start career; rarely running a bad race. A daughter of the successful broodmare sire Paris House (eight stakes winners amongst the 108 winners produced by his daughters), Robinson Girl has been nicely represented by four winners including the terrific galloper Wazawatsyn. A ten time winner from 30 starts, she was three times successful at Listed level and she too is doing well at stud with her city winning daughter Princess Michella producing the Gr.3 placed multiple city winner (including Randwick) winner Wewillrock. Robinson Girl is also dam of the five time winner Miss Centrefold, a full sister to Robinson Girl.
THIRD DAM: THE THIEF
A Gr.2 placed triple city winner (and three times placed) from 15 starts, The Thief had four winners amongst her six runners. She is a daughter of the successful Star Kingdom line stallion Brigand, sire of 12 stakes winners including the wonderful sprinter River Rough and the Caulfield Cup winner Cole Diesel. Brigand’s daughters produced another 12 stakes winners including the Gr.1 mares Alcove and Derobe. The Thief’s dam is a half-sister to the dual Group winner Grizzly from the family of the stakes winners Nippon (Gr.1 George Main Stake), Our Shah (Gr.1 Easter Handicap), Attilee, Sweet Miss, Judge Tytus, Yaraandoo, Red Loki, Our Tilda and Dingle Bay. Ancestress of this prolific family is the acclaimed matriarch Eulogy (also ancestress of Gold Centre and Brigand)… ancestress of 535 stakes winners; 107 of whom are Gr.1 winners including Vo Rogue, Elvstroem, Haradasun, Highland Reel, Starspangledbanner, Polar Success, Zephyr Bay, Kingdom Bay, Circles Of Gold, All Silent and Private Steer – as well as the W.S Cox Plate heroes Bonecrusher and Fury’s Order.
PEDIGREE ANALYSIS
Profondo’s high achieving sire Deep Impact is a descendant of the influential matriarch Feola – as is the great Round Table who appears in Profondo’s dam. Robinson Girl is also line-bred to Feola, bringing in another strain of Round Table as well as one of The Queen’s favourite horses (she was influential in the formation of this prolific family) Doutelle. This filly is bred on a 4 X 3 cross of Danehill – grandsire of Profondo’s dam and the sire of Gold Centre. This particular placement of Danehill has occurred in 1229 winners (a healthy overall strike rate of 60.8%) with 63 stakes winners including the Gr.1 horses Zougotcha, Joliestar, Fatal Flaw, Ozzmosis, Climbing Star, Jonker and Amphitrite. Supporting this Danehill cross is the presence of his close relations Northern Dancer and Halo (grandsire of Deep Impact via the legendary Sunday Silence). There are several outstanding mares duplicated in the background of this filly’s pedigree – namely Lavendula, Marchetta, La Troienne, Lady Susan, Mumtaz Mahal and Pretty Polly.
