OVERVIEW

Monarch Racing Syndications is proud to present in our opinion the best colt on grounds for the entire Inglis Classic Sale. This bold statement is backed by Riversdale Farm as being the best colt as a physical they have ever bred. With the sons and daughters starting to make their mark on Australian racing he is by far the best value prospect we have secured. He has the power, presence and speed injection from is sire North Pacific, out of a winning Dundeel mare, Filters. Dundeel is emerging as one of Australia’s best broodmare sire and provides this colt with all the greatest traits of the High Chapparal lines. He looks an Autumn two year old with the substance to be better at three and beyond. With some of Australia’s stallion making race targets being our aspirations for this stunning young colt.  To be trained by Group 1 winning trainer and stallion maker Richard Litt, Warwick Farm NSW. He is Inglis Bonus & BOBS nominated giving him every opportunity to secure a boast of bonus prizemoney. This is a colt our Director Jason Micallef is very proud to offer and one for serious racing partners.

SIRE: NORTH PACIFIC

An $800,000 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling from the second crop of Champion Sire I Am Invincible’s high class son Brazen Beau (dual Gr.1 winning successful sire of 27 stakes winners), North Pacific showed up nicely early in his racing career. A member of the Hawkes stable, he had trialled well prior to his Gr.2 Silver Slipper Stakes third at debut – getting back and wide from a tricky gate behind the subsequent Gr.1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Farnan. Given a bit of time, North Pacific had his second two-year-old run in the winter, recording a very easy win over 1100m at Rosehill before kicking off his three-year-old season with a big win (5 1/4 lengths) in the Gr.3 Up And Coming Stakes at Randwick. So impressive was he on that occasion that he was right in the market contesting the Gr.2 Run To The Rose, North Pacific ran another great race – third behind Rothfire and Ole Kirk with Peltzer and Farnan behind him. Going into the Gr.1 Golden Rose as one of the favoured runners, North Pacific was again right in the things – only just beaten by Ole Kirk with King’s Legacy third and Rothfire fourth. As a summer three-year-old North Pacific was still in good form – finishing fourth despite being galloped on in the Gr.3 Eskimo Prince Stakes. Subsequently second in the Gr.2 Hobartville Stakes, he was injured when in the market contesting the Gr.1 Randwick Guineas and was retired to stud. With his first runners only three, North Pacific has already been represented by 17 individual winners, noting that his sire line is one whose members generally get all the better as they mature. The metropolitan winners Making News, Rarotonga, Pacific Witness and Viresha are amongst the North Pacific runners showing promise with the best still to come.

DAM: FILTERS

A winner over 2000m in Queensland, Filters has as her first foal the three-year-old  Littlemissallsorts who looks close to a win having run nicely at her most recent outing (just her third start). Filters is a daughter of High Chaparral’s six time Gr.1 winning son Dundeel, the classy sire of 39 stakes winners including the Gr.1 horses Militarize, Celestial Legend, Mini Force X, Castelvecchio, Truly Great, Atyaab, Super Seth, Dunkel and Femminile. It is still early days for Dundeel as broodmare sire but the signs are good with his daughters already producing 21 winners including the stakes winners Within The Law, Noah ‘N’ A Deel and Itza Charmdeel.

SECOND DAM: ROYAL EMERGER

A winner over a mile at Dubbo, Royal Emerger did a good job at stud with her five winners including the durable stakes winner Royal Rada – winner of ten races including the Listed Hannan’s Handicap. Also dam of the six time winner Sunshine Royale, Royal Emerger is the grandam of the promising New Zealand based gelding Espadas, a smart winner at his most recent outing at Ellerslie late last December. Royal Emerger is by one of Danehill’s best sons, the triple Gr.1 (Golden Slipper, Australian Guineas, All-Aged Stakes) winner Flying Spur. A regally bred success story, he sired 99 stakes winners including 14 Gr.1 winners and his daughters have produced another 118 stakes winners – 17 of whom are Gr.1 winners.

THIRD DAM: TRIATTICA

A dual city winner from just eight starts, Triattica was a terrific broodmare – seven of her eight foals being winners including the runaway (6 3/4 lengths) Gr.1 Adelaide Cup winner Demerger (winner of another seven races, two at Gr.3 level) and the Group placed city winners Trader and Rash Promise. Grandam of the Listed winner Impetuous and the stakes placegetters Admiral Jello, Fu Ni and Adamina, Triattica is a half-sister to the Gr.3 winner Majestically out of a full sister to the outstanding mare Triscay – winner of 15 of her 26 stakes, five of those in Gr.1 company. This is a family that has proven its worth at Gr.1 level, its other big race winners including La Baraka and Defier.  Ancestress of this family is Pearl Maiden, dam of the champion Pearl Cap with 277 stakes winning descendants including 37 Gr.1 winners. Further back this is the same prolific Miss Agnes family as the great stallion Zabeel to whom this colt is line-bred 5 X 4. Triattica is a daughter of Century’s outstanding son Centaine, Champion Sire of 62 stakes winners (12 Gr.1 winners) and broodmare sire of 120 stakes winners – 28 of whom have enjoyed success at Gr.1 level.

PEDIGREE ANALYSIS

As already mentioned, this handsome colt boasts a cross of the breed shaper Zabeel. There have been 19 stakes winners amongst the 452 winners line-bred to him and Dundeel (son of a Zabeel mare) fares well with his duplications… combining with further strains in the pedigrees of 63 winners, six of whom are stakes winners including the Gr.1 gallopers Aeliana, La Dorada, Maison Louis and Femminile. The latter is one of the three (from 17 runners) Dundeel stakes winners whose second Zabeel strain comes via the champion Octagonal – North Pacific’s second dam sire. North Pacific’s grandsire I Am Invincible is a descendant (as is his second dam sire Zoffany) of the legendary matriarch Chelandry and this sire line picks up extremely well on her influence – noting that her descendants High Chaparral and Fiesta Star both appear in Dundeel. The Gr.1 NZ 1000 Guineas winner Media Sensation is bred this way whilst another big race winner in On The Bubbles is bred on the same Brazen Beau/Flying Spur cross as this filly. Brazen Beau’s dam is bred on a 4 X 4 cross of her own fourth dam Windy Answer – the fifth dam of Flying Spur.  Other high class mares duplicated in the background of this filly’s pedigree include Sweet Lavender, Somethingroyal, Pretty Polly and Lalun.
