OVERVIEW

Monarch Racing is proud to present a real commercial stallion prospect, by Champion Stallion & Sire of sires Dundeel. This colt is a forward running style of Dundeel, Bred on the same cross as Super Seth & Ace High. From potentially Australia’s hottest and most current top tier racing families, that makes him a half-brother to Skyhook and closely related to Stallion Anders, Stakes winners, Ostraka and rising superstar Caffe Florian. This colt is the perfect blend of type and page, he is a no brainer to add to your racing portfolio and shares will not last. To be trained by Tony & Calvin McEvoy at Ballarat / Flemington, he is BOBS & Inglis race series nominated. This colt presents a fantastic opportunity to own a potential stallion and will be given every chance.

SIRE: DUNDEEL

The great High Chaparral’s second most prolific Gr.1 son after So You Think, the outstanding galloper Dundeel hit the ground running as a debut winner (J-Mac aboard!) at Ellerslie as a two-year-old. Making his way to Australia, the handsome bay won his first four local starts; quickly progressing through the classes from a no metro wins contest at Wyong to a BM70 at Canterbury to the Gr.3 Gloaming Stakes to the Gr.1 Spring Champion Stakes. As an autumn three-year-old he added to his impressive tally three consecutive Gr.1 races – the Randwick Guineas (by half a length from Proisir), the Rosehill Guineas (by a stunning 6 3/4 lengths from Sacred Falls) and the ATC Derby… again by a massive margin. In his four-year-old spring campaign Dundeel defeated the odds-on favourite Atlantic Jewel (her only loss) in the Gr.1 Underwood Stakes before a luckless run as favourite in the W.S Cox Plate. Continuing to perform well during his final preparation, Dundeel at his finale was able to win the rich Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes – heading to Arrowfield Stud as the winner of ten of his 19 starts and over $5.3 million in stakes.

A six time Gr.1 winner, Dundeel has been consistently popular at stud and little wonder. His overall strike rate sits on an excellent 67.1% and 39 of his progeny are stakes winners including the Gr.1 gallopers Militarize, Celestial Legend, Super Seth, Castelvecchio, Mini Force X, Truly Great, Atyaab, Dunkel and Femminile. With progeny earnings in excess of $82.2 million, Dundeel has also sired 34 stakes placegetters whilst a further 104 of his sons and daughters are metropolitan winners. over 36% of his winners are at least city class! And such is his genetic power that his success is carrying on to the next generation with his sons Castelvecchio and Super Seth both siring Gr.1 winners.

DAM: MADAME PAULINE

A home-bred for Arrowfield Stud, home to her super star sire Redoute’s Choice (four time Gr.1 winning three time Australian Champion Sire of 40 Gr.1 winners amongst 182 stakes winners… and an outstanding broodmare sire of a further 186 stakes winners and 32 Gr.1 winners), Madame Pauline showed good talent during a short career. A smart all the way winner at her Scone debut, she stepped up in class at that same track at her second outing and was again too good. In the placings (including a close Randwick second) at her next three starts and fourth when unlucky not to win (badly held up) at her finale, she ran well at every outing. And now her progeny are doing the job with her first runner Skyhook (a $575,000 Magic Millions yearling) a three-year-old with plenty of talent. last year’s Gr.3 Pago Pago Stakes and Listed Rosebud winner who ran such great races in Gr.1 company over the spring.

SECOND DAM: MADAME ANDREE

Also bred by Arrowfield, for them defeating subsequent dual Group winner Flying Snitzel in a Rosehill trial but not making it to the track, Madame Andree (by the Kentucky Derby and Preakness hero War Emblem) has well and truly made up for her lack of a racing career by doing a great job at stud. Seven of her eight foals have raced, all but one being winners – and smart winners they are too. Madame Pauline is her first foal, the unraced Nancy Grace (already dam of two nice winners including the promising Annabel & Rob Archibald trained Dundeel 3Y0 Falcon Lair) her next and the stakes placed dual winner Battleground her next. Then she produced the Gr.3 San Domenico Stakes winning emerging young stallion Anders (four wins from 11 starts) and then the Rosehill winner Smashing Eagle followed by the placed Satin Love (who has been visiting big name stallions). Her next two foals are both highly talented – the Gr.3 Silver Eagle and Listed winner Ostraka and the exciting three-year-old Caffe Florian who, after a Canterbury third at debut has won all three since – including, at his latest outing, the Listed Gosford Guineas. In summary that’s three stakes winners amongst six winners and there is more to come for Madame Andree whose Snitzel filly fetched $1.6 million at this year’s Magic Millions.

THIRD DAM: GLAMOUR STOCK

A daughter of the legendary Sunday Silence, Glamour Stock produced Madame Andree as her first foal. Another three of her progeny are winners including the dam of the promising stakes placed So Glamorous. Glamour Stock is a half-sister to eight winners including the Gr.1 winner Exciting Story and the stakes winner Diablo’s Story (in turn dam of the Listed winner Open Story). Her dam Appealing Story (out of the Gr.1 placed Charming Story) is also ancestress of the stakes winners Dualist, Red Claudia, Sweeping Story, Sweeping Paddy, Pharoah’s Wine, C S Incharge, Appealing Look and Colorful Days. This is a high class American family, one which has also been represented at Gr.1 level by the likes of Rest Your Case, Optimistic Gal, Hatim and Bates Motel (American Champion Older Horse).

PEDIGREE ANALYSIS

Dundeel’s strike rate is impressive enough but it is even a bit higher with daughters of Redoute’s Choice – the cross that this imposing colt is bred on. 62 of the 92 Dundeel runners out of Redoute’s Choice mares are winners and four of those are stakes winners including one of his best sons – the Caulfield Guineas winning successful young stallion Super Seth. Bred on the same Northern Dancer/Sir Ivor cross, Dundeel and Redoute’s Choice provide pedigree power and there is further strength to this colt’s pedigree with Darshaan – the dam sire of Dundeel’s sire High Chaparral – hailing from the same great Frizette family as Mr Prospector; grandsire of Madame Pauline’s dam sire War Emblem. Dundeel and Mr Prospector have combined extremely well in 14 stakes winners including Dundeel’s Gr.1 winners Militarize and Femminile.

Carrying a third strain of the legendary Sir Ivor, this colt also boasts background duplications of the influential mares Almahmoud, Canterbury Pilgrim, Sweet Lavender, Cinq A Sept, Mumtaz Mahal, Admiration and Boxeuse.
