His sire PIERATA is a rising star in the stallion ranks and a Group 1 winner taking out the stallion-making All Aged Stakes over 1400m as a 4yo and was a winner of the $3 million Magic Millions Guineas as a 3yo. His other victories include the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m), The Group 3 Sydney Stakes (1200m) and the Group 3 BRC Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) resulting in $5,802,940 in prize money. As a stallion, he is the new kid on the block who has produced five stakes performers from his first crop of two-year-olds, most notably Group 3 winner and Group 1 Golden Slipper runner-up COLMAN. His oldest progeny are three-year-olds.
His dam MIROSLAVA is well-related featuring two-year-old Group and Listed winners and black type performers throughout the pedigree. The females are exceptional in this family and produce boys that succeed. This colt is Miroslava’s first foal.
The second dam SLOW THE FLOW was a winner at two and won 4 races, three in the city, over 900m to 1250m and was Group-placed three times. She produced six foals to race for three winners.
The third dam WATERWISE won twice over 1400m to 1580m and produced multiple Listed Winner CENTRE PIVOT, who won eight races over 1400m to 2000m, SLOW THE FLOW and DAM READY, an eight-time winner, one as a two-year-old, over 1000m to 1200m and black-type placed.
When we get to the fourth dam things get even more interesting. SPRINKLER won at two over 1300m and is related to multiple Group performers. She had five foals to race and all won, including four-time winner, one at two, and Group 2-placed POETIC GENIUS.
The fifth dam FITTING was an Australian speed machine from a family of speed machines. She had four wins, two as a two-year-old, over 1000m to 1400m. She took out the Listed Gimcrack Stakes at two and ran 3rd in the Group 2 Silver Slipper before running 3rd in the Group 1 Flight Stakes. She had 11 foals to race for 9 winners, including Group 1 Golden Slipper Winner and five-time two-year-old winner over 1200m CATBIRD and six-time winner over 1100m to 1400m and Group 2 Winner DANBIRD, who won the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes at two and the Group 2 Newmarket Handicap (now a Group 1 race).
There is plenty of two-year-old speed in this family and this precocious boy will be aimed for the $20 million Magic Millions Race Series, which carries a Magic Millions Racing Women bonus of $500,000 for the $3 million 2yo Magic Millions Classic, and a $250,000 bonus for the $3 million 3yo Magic Millions Guineas. He is also eligible for the QTIS Bonus in Queensland.
This colt will be trained in Queensland by father and daughter partnership Tony and Maddy Sears at Toowoomba. Since they partnered-up in 2019, they have gone from strength to strength and in the 2023/2024 season, held their position in the top 12 Metropolitan premiership with 21 winners & over $1.6mil in prize money as well as being the most successful QLD trainers over the QLD winter carnival.
