Monarch Racing Syndications has finished the 2025 yearling sales season with a bang as we found the hidden gem of the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale. This filly is by the progressive sire Lean Mean Machine (by Zoustar) out of the unraced High Chaparral mare Purple Carat. This smooth moving filly has the pedigree to fly early and mature into high class middle distance/staying proposition in time.
Her sire Lean Mean Machine raced in a hot generation that included The Autumn Sun, Graff, Zousain and Sunlight. He announced himself as a stallion proposition winning the Group 2 Run To The Rose to complement his Group 2 BRC Sires Produce triumph as a 2YO. The son of Zoustar is starting to fire up the stallion ranks with Material Dreams and Title Fighter winning at Listed level. The Lean Mean Machine x High Chaparral cross has already produced a 2YO metropolitan QLD winner with Jemoma Alpilage.
Her dam PURPLE CARAT (By High Chaparral) was utilised as a breeding proposition, and she has the perfect “2 foals to race – 2 winners record”. The mare is half-sister to Group 3 SAJC Fillies Classic winner ZAPURPLE, and three-quarter sister to the 2YO winner and stakes performed ANCHOR BID.
The second dam Perfect Groove was a winner of 6 races – 4 in succession to (1450m) including the Listed VRC Lets Elope Stakes. She was placed in the Group 2 VRC Empire Rose Stakes, Group 3 VRC Rose Of Kingston Stakes and finished 4th to Scenic Peak in the 2002 Group 1 VRC Emirates Stakes. She has been a great producer with 4 individual winners, composing of the stakes winner Zapurple (By Zabeel). Her family is still active with the Listed winner Through Irish Eyes (Tavistock x Zapurple) finishing 2nd in the 2025 Listed Sandown Cup (3200m) on the 1st June.
The third dam Irises was a 2YO speed machine winning the Group 3 VATC Blue Diamond Prelude and go on to finish 4th in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes. Her 1st foal Tyrises (By Last Tycoon) was where her family really launched with the stakes winners Super Groove (Listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes), Taikun (Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes, Group 3 Concorde Stakes, Listed Starlight Stakes), Right to Party (Group 2 Gilgai Stakes, Group 2 Aurie’s Star Hcp, Listed AR Creswick Stakes) , Big Party (Gr3 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy) and more recently Steparty (Group 3 MRC Caulfield Guineas Prelude) making their mark.
This filly will be trained in Queensland by father and daughter partnership Tony and Maddy Sears at the Gold Coast. Since they partnered-up in 2019, they have gone from strength to strength and in the 2023/2024 season, held their position in the top 12 Metropolitan premiership with 21 winners & over $1.6mil in prize money as well as being the most successful QLD trainers over the QLD winter carnival.
This filly is eligible for the $20 million Magic Millions Race Series and QTIS Bonus Scheme.
