Monarch Racing Syndications is thrilled to present this wonderfully-bred colt by sire-on-fire DUNDEEL (by High Chaparral) out of MOPITTS (by Shamus Award), a half-sister to the brilliant Australian race mare NETTOYER. His pedigree page is flooded with Group-level middle-distance form and the family is well-versed in producing winners.
DUNDEEL was a superstar of the turf. A Champion three-year-old and six-time Group 1 winner, he has done the deal on the racetrack and is now doing it in the breeding barn producing horses such as CASTELVECCHIO, CELESTIAL LEGEND, SUPER SETH and MILITARIZE.
He was a winner at two and came out as a three-year-old to dominate over 1400m to 2400m. He was the Champion Middle Distance Male in Australia and New Zealand and the Horse of the Year in New Zealand in 2013-14. He was legendary. As a stallion, he broke into the Top 10 sires table in 2023 and he has sired 8 Group 1 winners, 32 stakes winners and 382 winners to date overall. His star continues to rise.
The dam MOPITTS was a winner over 1600m but she has the lofty honour of being a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 and Group 3 winner NETTOYER, a super-mare who won seven races over 1600m to 2040m. The second dam CLEANUP also produced Listed winner LEADING TADDY, who won over 1200m to 1400m, including a win as a two-year-old. CLEANUP had six foals to race and all won, which is no mean feat.
The third dam FEATHER DUSTER was a five-time winner over 1100m to 1414m and had six foals to race for five winners. The one that stands out is the tough race mare SHE’S CLEAN, a Group 3 and Listed winner and overall 10-time winner over 1100m to 1400m. FEATHER DUSTER also produced a number of Group and Listed-performed horses in Australia, such as ROBUSTO, NOTORIOUS ONE, FLOYD and OLLIVANDER.
Dipping a bit deeper into the pedigree, we find Group 1 AJC Oaks winner ABSOLUTELY, Group 1 SAJC Oaks Winner ABBEY MARIE, Japanese Group 1 and Group 2 winner KINSHASA NO KISEKI and Group 3 Geelong Cup winner RUNAWAY.
This colt is bred for the classic distances and like his sire, 1400m to 2400m looks likely for him. He is a good-bodied, rangy, athletic colt with a lovely loose action and swagger about him, who looks like a late two-year-old, early three-year-old prospect that will bloom through his three and four-year-old career.
He is eligible for the Inglis Race Series, including the $2 million Inglis Millennium for two-year-olds, and the BOBS Bonus Scheme, which is paid out on all NSW racetracks adding a payment of up to $20,000 for each win as a two and three-year-old.
He will be trained by multiple Group 1-winning trainer and stallion maker Richard Litt at Warwick Farm, who is very experienced with the progeny of DUNDEEL. His successes include training rising star stallion Castelvecchio (by Dundeel) to win two Group 1 races, as well as a memorable 2nd in the 2019 Cox Plate, and Profondo who won the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes at only his third start.
